Facilitation of Grant Writing Workshop
Background
WorldShare connects Australians with local Christian organisations throughout the world who are working within their communities to bring transformation. We call these organisations our Ministry Partners. Through these partnerships, we provide financial support, capacity building and training, spiritual engagement, and accountability. Our Ministry Partners are chosen according to the effectiveness and common interest in restoring hope and life to the outcast and forgotten. We work this way because we believe communities best flourish when local organisations are empowered to bring about change themselves.
The two partners for which this training is to be conducted are based in Goma, DRC. One is a large hospital which also works in medical training and community development. The other operates a primary, secondary and vocational training school alongside a medical centre for the hearing-impaired community.
Relevance
WorldShare works with independent grassroots partners in developing countries. One role WorldShare plays in this partnership is supporting partner organisations with capacity building. Diversifying funding sources is a key capacity-building priority for both our Goma partners with grant writing being an essential component. The ability to clearly communicate the need and logic behind their projects, using evidence and reasoning, is critical to the long-term financial sustainability of our partners.
